Become a test center


Le français des affaires / Paris Île-de-France CCI is supported by a global network of over 500 test centers.

These centers are accredited to run the Test d’Évaluation de Français (TEF) and/or Diplomas in French for Professions (DFP): establishments in the French cultural network of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (Alliances Françaises, Instituts Français, Espaces Campus France, etc.) training organizations, language centers, secondary and post-secondary general and vocational schools, French departments in universities and Chambers of Commerce, in France and abroad.

There are no membership or registration fees to become a test center for the TEF and DFP with Le français des affaires.

Submit your application to Le français des affaires / Paris Île-de-France CCI at the following email address: francais@cci-paris-idf.fr.

Please note that the procedure for applying to become an accredited test center is in French. The person handling your center’s accreditation application must therefore speak French.

We will guide you through the following stages:

  • Uploading your application on the online platform
  • Reviewing of the application by the Accreditation Commission (which meets monthly)
  • Signing the agreement
  • Online training for your center’s TEF and/or DFP examiners (follow-up and passing the final test)
  • Organizing your sessions

Criteria for becoming a test center

  • Recognized expertise in language teaching in your country
  • At least one year’s experience in teaching French as a Foreign Language
  • Dedicated computers for written tests

with the following technical specifications:

  • Microsoft Windows 10 or above (for Windows) or OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or above (for Mac)
  • minimum of 5 MB available on the hard drive
  • minimum 19-inch screen for PCs / 15-inch screen for laptops
  • recommended screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher
  • Internet connection with minimum speed of 1MB, ethernet connection recommended (wi-fi possible if stable)
  • headphones for each workstation
  • One or more tablets for the oral expression test

with the following technical specifications:

  • OS: Android 11 or iOS 11 minimum
  • Screen size: 7-inch minimum (ideally 8-inch)
  • Stylus mandatory: either supplied with the tablet or purchased separately
  • Rear camera: 1 megapixel minimum (ideally at least 5 megapixels)
  • Recommended tablet brands: Samsung, Nexus, LG, Apple (avoid unknown brands and low-end tablets)


What should your application include?

  • the application form completed online
  • the CV of the person in charge of the center. This person must speak French. S/he must have experience and/or qualification(s) in French as a Foreign Language (FLE) or Professional French
  • the CVs of prospective members of oral expression juries. These people must have experience and/or qualification(s) in teaching FLE and/or French for Specific Purposes (FOS) (minimum of 3 CVs for a TEF application)
  • a floor plan of the premises and photographs of the rooms where exam papers will be stored, candidates welcomed and exams taken
  • documents presenting your establishment (leaflets, brochures, etc.), and/or the establishment’s website

For the TEF, a minimum of 2 examiners must meet the following criteria:

  • hold an official, recognized qualification in FLE didactics, preferably including initial training in the CEFR
  • have at least three years’ full-time experience teaching FLE to a diverse range of students, representative of the range of TEF candidates

For the Diplomas in French for Professions, a minimum of 2 examiners must meet the following criteria:

  • hold an official, recognized qualification in FLE didactics, preferably including initial training in the CEFR
  • have previous experience in teaching Professional French or a professional audience
