Le français des affaires offers, designs and distributes a range of certifications in French as a Foreign Language on behalf of the Paris Ile-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).

Our range includes French proficiency Tests and Diplomas in French for Professions, offering a way to validate French language skills for international student and/or professional mobility, as part of applications for residency, naturalization or recruitment.

Over 114,000 candidates take our certifications every year, in partnership with a network of over 500 test centers worldwide.

The Test d’Évaluation de Français (TEF) [French Proficiency Test] was created in 1998, the world’s first standardized test of general French.

Today, it is used for residency applications in France, naturalization applications in France and Switzerland, immigration to Canada and Quebec, student mobility and recruitment.

The Diploma of French for Professions (DFP) was created in 1958 and certifies an individual’s ability to use French in a professional context (Business, International Relations, Tourism – Hospitality – Catering, and Healthcare).

It is recognized by a large number of institutions and validates your studies in French, whether at a language center, high school, vocational school or university.

A network of accredited centers

The TEF and DFP are managed by Le français des affaires, which has a network of over 500 accredited centers in 120 countries on 5 continents.

These test centers organize local exam sessions with the official recognition of the Paris Ile-de-France CCI.

All centers undergo an approval procedure prior to organizing sessions. Approval is granted by Le français des affaires if the applicant establishment or center meets the eligibility criteria defined in the procedure.
